After years of listening to passionate collectors share their stories and quietly observing what it takes to evaluate, acquire, transport, restore, document, and preserve collector cars, I began to see a problem I was uniquely positioned to solve. This is the story of how Collector Archives was born.
For over a decade, I've had a front-row seat to the collector car world, seeing firsthand how some of the world's most significant vehicles are cared for.
I've spent years observing what goes into owning, managing, and preserving these vehicles, and the extraordinary expertise of the people responsible for their care.
These cars are collectible for a reason. They represent exceptional design, engineering, craftsmanship, performance, and history. Many have stories that span decades, shaped by generations of owners who each contributed to their history.
By observing this ecosystem through the lens of a product designer, I started to see a problem no one was solving.
Throughout its life, a collector vehicle accumulates a history shaped by what happens to it and the people connected to it. But there is no system designed to bring that history together, preserve it with the vehicle, and pass it from one owner to the next.
Instead, its history becomes scattered across documents, photographs, businesses, digital files, and the people who know the car. As ownership changes and time passes, records are lost, context disappears, and stories may never reach the next owner.
The problem had become clear to me, but it was one extraordinary car that made me decide to take action.

For its family significance, Jeff spent 33 years searching for, locating, acquiring, and restoring this car. Today, it's his most prized possession. But what makes it truly special isn't the metal — it's the stories, the people, the places it's been, and the history connected to it.
After watching this story unfold and listening to every memory he shared, one thought kept coming back to me.
If something happens to Jeff, the incredible story of this car will be lost forever.
And there it began. I knew I had to document its history and preserve its legacy, and Collector Archives was born.
Jeff's car is one of countless historically significant vehicles, and most will outlive us. Their legacy deserves to be preserved. Collector Archives will make that possible.
